Welcome to the 2020-21 school year! We are navigating uncharted waters. With the abrupt ending to the 2019-20 school year and now with a tenuous beginning of the 2020-21 academic year, we continue to map our path in this unknown territory.
Although this year will not look like a “typical” year, please know that Eastern will continue its tradition of excellence! We will do everything in our power to provide a quality education to every child in a safe environment during this pandemic.
Our district is very excited about the opportunities in technology that are available to our students with our Bring Your Own Device Mobile Technology Policy; chrome books; and use of Google Classroom and Black Board, on line venues that allow students and teachers the opportunity to post classroom materials, assessments, and discussions electronically. Our goal is for Eastern students to leave our halls, and enter the world of higher education or the work force with a skill set that includes well-honed technological skills.
Parents and community members are invited to follow us on Facebook (Eastern Local Schools Brown County) and Twitter (@Michele_Filon) to receive updated information from the district. We also encourage you to sign up for our eCommunication, a weekly electronic newsletter (see link on the district website).
During these challenging financial times, our Board of Education will continue to remain fiscally responsible and responsive to the community, while providing quality academic and extra-curricular programs for our students.
We look forward to working with the community to maintain our tradition of pride and excellence. Your input is encouraged and appreciated. Please contact me with any questions, suggestions, and concerns at [email protected] or 937.695.9030.
Michele R. Filon, Superintendent
